Why Boy's Volleyball Should Be Talked About More

When you think of volleyball you think of woman's volleyball. It is a undeniable fact that people in the United States do not give boys enough credit for their volleyball skills. 78.1% of volleyball players are girls and 21.9% of players are boys.

According to OBVA(Oklahoma Boys Volleyball Association) only 63,000 boys are playing volleyball in high school. In the 2021-2022 season an estimated 520,600 girls played volleyball. This graphic below shows the difference in numbers between players

Now to talk about why it should be more prevalent or talked about. The Boys volleyball goes at a much faster pace then the girls games. Stronger attacks and more aggressive serves are implemented.

This is not to dismiss anything girls do in volleyball they are equally as fun to watch. All I am saying is we need to look at both of the sports the same and instead of popularizing one section over the other we should include both sides of the sport.
